About Our Building Expertise

Bringing craftsmanship, reliability, and attention to detail to every project we complete.

Early Experience &
Family Background

From a young age, I was surrounded by hardworking role models. My dad and grandpa owned David Nelson & Son, a moving company where I gained hands-on experience assisting with the transportation of freight, machinery, and household goods. Through that work, I developed a strong understanding of equipment operation and the responsibility required to handle valuable materials safely and efficiently.

I also had the opportunity to work alongside our in-house mechanics, where I learned the fundamentals of machinery maintenance and repair. In addition, I was trained in building skids and custom crates designed to protect and transport specialized items.

Beyond the moving industry, my grandpa, dad, and a close family friend introduced me to the craft of woodworking. They taught me the value of precision, patience, and pride in quality workmanship through projects such as building decks, swing sets, and various handcrafted items. These early experiences laid the foundation for the skills, work ethic, and attention to detail that continue to guide my approach to every project today.

These experiences shaped not only my skills but also my values—honesty, reliability, and treating every project as if I were building it for my own family. That commitment to quality craftsmanship remains at the heart of everything we do.

Licensing, Certifications & Business Experience

Licensing, Certifications & Business Experience

At 18 years old, I earned my CDL, along with certifications to operate forklifts and high-lift equipment. Over the years, I gained experience driving and operating vehicles weighing up to 80,000 pounds, including flatbeds, semitrucks, and even the occasional military vehicle. These experiences strengthened my commitment to safety, responsibility, and attention to detail.

I also co-owned and operated a successful landscaping business with a close friend for seven years. My business partner came from a family with deep roots in the carpentry trade, and working alongside him provided invaluable opportunities to expand my knowledge and refine my craftsmanship. Together, we completed projects that sharpened my skills, reinforced the importance of quality workmanship, and deepened my appreciation for building things the right way.

These experiences in transportation, business ownership, and hands-on construction have shaped the foundation of my work ethic and continue to influence the way I approach every project today.

Construction & Technical Experience

Construction & Technical Experience

My experience extends beyond traditional construction. I spent time in Canada helping build modular apartment buildings, gaining valuable insight into large-scale projects, teamwork, and efficient building practices.

At just 23 years old, I served as the general contractor on my first new-construction home. It was a milestone that confirmed I had found my calling and set the course for the company we continue to build today.

I also spent seven years specializing in custom audio and video installation, focusing on low-voltage wiring, home automation, and smart home programming. This work required precision, problem-solving, and a strong understanding of integrating modern technology into residential spaces.

These experiences broadened my skill set and reinforced the importance of adaptability, attention to detail, and doing quality work the right way. Whether I’m framing a structure, coordinating a project, or installing the latest technology, I bring the same commitment to craftsmanship and professionalism to every job.

The Foundation

In 2020, when COVID changed the rhythm of everyday life, my family faced an unexpected transition. As a healthcare professional, my wife was called to continue serving on the front lines, and I stayed home to care for our children. What we thought would be a brief two-week shutdown quickly turned into months of uncertainty.

During that time, I was building our family home. What began as a necessity soon reminded me of what I truly loved—creating, building, and seeing a project come to life through hard work and craftsmanship.

That experience became the foundation for No Bull Contracting.

I made the decision to pursue construction full-time and turn my passion into a business built on honesty, reliability, and quality workmanship. Since then, I have continued to grow No Bull Contracting with the same philosophy that guided me while building my own home: treat every project as if it were for my own family.

At No Bull Contracting, we believe in straightforward communication, exceptional craftsmanship, and doing the job right the first time—no shortcuts, no excuses, and no bull.
